District 9 for me had instant appeal when watching the trailer, and up until its relese i had no doubt of it’s instant sucess.And after watching it my opinion still stands, and with a world wide income of $199,448,079 as of November 4th 2009 just confirms its success over the months.
One or two things I particullarily enjoed about the film was the Documemtary style of shooting and the way they alternated between real time and interviews gave it the new edge a movie like this needed.If your looking for action then Disctrict 9 is for you, but if your looking for a feel good movie to lift you up out of the dumps then im afraid that its not for you. Disctrict 9 (as entertaining as it ) is a rollercoaster of emotions and a very sad story.
My praises to Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson for an amazing film that I will most certainly remember for a very long time.
